Medal Biscuits Recipe of 19-03-2017 [Updated on 23-05-2018]
How can you tell a dad that he is the best in the world? With medal biscuits of course! Simple cookies flavored with vanilla, ginger and cinnamon, ideal as a gift for Father's Day. Together with the classic San Giuseppe zeppole, which absolutely cannot be missing, in the past few days I have browsed through the photos on Pinterest to prepare something new for the occasion, well when I saw the medal-shaped cookies it seemed to me the perfect dessert to make than celebrate fathers and tell them with this little sweet that for us they are number 1!
Choose the phrase that best suits the recipient of the medal and have fun customizing it with sprinkles, icing or whatever you like best. Greetings to all dad and especially to those who are super dad: *
How to make medal cookies
Start working the butter and sugar.
Now add the egg, vanilla, ginger and cinnamon and start working again until you get a cream.
Then also incorporate the flour and when you have a compact dough form a ball, wrap it with cling film and let it rest for half an hour in the refrigerator.
Now take the shortcrust pastry and roll it out on a floured work surface.
Help yourself with a glass to form circles.
Now transfer them to a lined drip pan and make rectangular holes in which to subsequently pass the laces. With the leftover shortcrust pastry, make letters for DAD or PAPA ', numbers 1 and hearts
Bake the biscuits at 180 ° C for 15 minutes, the letters and hearts for 7/8 minutes.
Once the biscuits are taken out of the oven and cooled, you can decorate them by joining the shortcrust pastry decorations with melted chocolate.
Also use laces to complete the medals.
Your medal cookies are ready to be given as a gift, or eaten!
